As we know that the 15 Days full time Course on General Management and Communication Skills was introduced in the year 2002 to train the candidates to the profession with interpersonal and management skills.

Further, the Committee for Members in Industry vide Bos/Ancment/GMCS/227/23/07 decided that completion of GMCS Course is compulsory for participating in the campus placement programme to enable newly qualified members to do well and procure placements at higher packages in the campus interviews.
Last year i.e. in 2012, CA Institute implemented a new GMCS programme by organising the existing GMCS course twice during the period of articled training for those who will be registered for articled training on or after 1st May, 2012. These courses help them in improving their intelligence in this global competitive environment.

A) GMCS-I Course:

The CA Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course students shall have to register themselves for GMCS-I course for 15 days during 1st year of their articled training; and

B) GMCS-II Course:

You may join GMCS-II course after completion of 18 months of article-ship. The duration of the course is 15 days full time and will be completed before completion of articled training.

As a result of revamping GMCS course both in quantitative and qualitative manner, recently qualified Chartered Accountants are more confident in communication skills by undergoing GMCS courses during their article training.
