Amendments applicable for CS Exam June, 2014:

1) Finance Act, 2013:

Students appearing in the paper of direct taxes portion of both CS Executive as well as CS Final, applicable Assessment year shall be 2014-15 (Previous Year 2013-14). In other words, students appearing in paper of Tax Laws (Old Syllabus), Tax Laws and Practice (New Syllabus) of Executive Programme and Advanced Tax Laws and Practice under old and new syllabus of Professional Programme shall have to study Finance Act, 2013 for June 2014 Examination.

All students of Executive and Professional Programme are required to update themselves about all the relevant Circulars, Clarifications, Notifications, etc. issued by the CBDT and Central Government, on or before six months prior to the date of the respective examinations.

2) Companies Act, 2013:

As we know that Companies Bill, 2012 as passed by the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, 18th December, 2012 and by the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, 08th August, 2013 has now become Companies Act, 2013 after receiving the assent of the President of India on the 29th August, 2013.

However, the syllabus for the ICSI exams are based on the Companies Act, 1956 and therefore, the Companies Act, 2013 is not applicable for the June 2014 session of examination. Thus, June 2014 examination will carry questions, wherever applicable, from the Companies Act, 1956 and not from the Companies Act, 2013.

Nevertheless, the highlights and important provisions of the Companies Bill, 2012 may be asked in the question papers. Thus you are request to go through the relevant highlights of Companies Bill, 2012 as prepared by CS Institute.
