The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has announced that the examination applications in physical form will not be accepted for Dec, 2016 session examination. Accordingly, the physical exam form will be immediately rejected by the CS Institute without any prior notice.
That means you may now fill up and submit your exam form online without paying any transaction charges just like postage and demand draft charges, travelling cost etc. as these all charges will be borne by the CS Institute itself and you may also be able to save your valuable time etc.
Actually, the ICSI has gone online for all services related to students including Online Registration System for admissions/ registrations to Foundation, Executive and Professional Programme with effect from 1st January, 2014. Therefore, you shall have to apply online to fill up the CS Exam Form for Dec 2016 attempt of CS Foundation, Executive and Professional Programme Examinations.
The last date for receipt of online examination enrollment application and payment of examination fees for appearing in CS Exams Dec, 2016 without late fee is Sunday, 25th September, 2016 (25.09.2016). However, students appearing for CS Foundation/ CS Executive/ CS Professional Dec 2016 Exams may also submit exam form online on or before the last date with late fee of ₹ 250 10th October, 2016 (10.10.2016) up to 12:00 midnight.

How to create account with ICSI for submitting online CS Exam Form
Created your account (who don’t have password) to avail online facility of CS Institute for filing CS Exam form online. Follow these simple step-by-step guideline for submitting your CS exam form online for ICSI Dec 2016 Examinations:
1) Click here to create your new account with ICSI student web portal.
2) Enter the required information like your programme (Foundation/ Executive/ Professional), registration number or transaction id/ challan number, date of birth, postal pin code etc. and then click on Proceed button.
3) In the open window enter your Email address and Mobile Number and click on Reset Password and get your password on the screen.
After getting your password follow the procedure for submitting online CS examination form for Dec 2016 as sited below in details.
Get your New Registration Number: If you have Old Registration Number and applied for the Denovo then please check your denovo status and get the New (DENOVO) Registration Number.
How to apply online for CS Examinations Dec 2016
Before applying online for CS Exams, please clear web browsing data by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Delete from your keyboard. You may use any latest web browser but I recommend latest version of Google Chrome and Internet Explorer.
Step-1 (Account Login):
Visit CS Institute web portal for students i.e. www.ICSI.in/student and click on LOGIN text button link appearing top right corner. If you have already registered for online services then login using your Current 17 Digit Registration Number as Username and Password.
In case you forgot password then you may retrieve the password immediately or the same will be sent to the email address you provided during registration. It may take maximum of 24 hours for activation of the new password for enrolling online for Examination. Successful retrieve message will be shown as under:
“Your password has been e-mailed to your registered email. If you still face issues trying to login, please contact ICSI Help Desk.”
Please check emails in SPAM folder also if emails are not coming in INBOX folder. However, if you have not yet created your account for online services then please follow the above mentioned steps to get your password.
Step-2 (Enroll for CS Exam):
After successful login select My Account under Student tab menu. Thereafter, click on Submit Examination Form under Examination Enrolment or you may click on the direct text link given on right side as Click here to Enroll for Examination.

Step-3 (Fill up Exam Form):
Now you will see the option to proceed to fill the form or cancel the same. Click on the option to proceed to fill the form.
In the open window you have to select or enter appropriate details such as Examination Center, Medium and Module etc. and thereafter just select the payment mode/ option either Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking and proceed for payment.
Note that claims for paper-wise exemption may be submitted separately through Online mode before the last date of enrollment i.e. 10th October, 2016 (23:59 Hours). The status of paper-wise exemption will be displayed as part of the Preliminary Enrollment Status at www.icsi.edu and also in Programme Info option under the Student Account (After Login).
Step-4 (Registration Confirmation):
You will see the transaction ID as well as Request ID along with various details like Name, Address, City Sate, Country, mobile number and email ID etc. on your screen. Verify the details carefully and Download the Details before pressing the button for payment. This is because you will not be able to update the same after the payment is made online.
However, you may update or change the examination centre, medium and module combinations by paying requisite fee of ₹250 + Surcharge every time separately for each UPDATION.
You will also receive registration confirmation (Request ID and Payment ID) in your Mobile as well as Email id.
Step-5 (CS Exam Fee Payment):
You may either choose option for payment by Credit/ Debit Card or may also proceed for payment through Internet Banking facility.
In case, you are not sure of the payment status, you may write to CS Institute at firstname.lastname@example.org with your bank statement. The process of confirmation by the Institute from the bank usually takes 3 days after which your record shall be unlocked in case the transaction was unsuccessful.
Important: Students are advised to retain a copy of the receipt for the examination fee remitted by them during the examination enrollment process. The Fee Receipt is automatically generated by the system for all successful transactions.
Note that all examination applications without a valid fee receipt shall be rejected without notice. In case the amount is deducted from the bank / debit/ credit card account but the acknowledgement is not automatically generated by the system, students may verify the status of payment from the following link by entering the Request Id and Transaction / Payment Id.
Step-6 (Check Enrollment Status):
After successful payment the duplicate receipt of the payment details can be generated online. Now, check your Enrollment status online for CS Examination.
In case, you are not sure of the payment status, you may write to CS Institute at email@example.com with your bank statement. Note that the process of confirmation by the Institute from the bank usually takes 3 days after which your record shall be unlocked in case the transaction was unsuccessful.
Important: Students generating the Challan upto 25th September, 2016 have to deposit the cash on or before 25th September, 2016 to avoid applicability of Late Fee failing which they will have to re-generate the Challan and deposit the cash inclusive of the late fee. Similarly, students generating Challan during the period from 26th September, 2016 to 10th October, 2016 will have to deposit the cash with the bank on or before 10th October, 2016. The examination enrollment applications in respect of students who deposit the cash with bank after 10th October, 2016 will be rejected without further notice.
