CA Final Exam Dates

The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the next Chartered Accountancy (CA) Final examination shall be held from first day of May 2017 vide Notification No. 13-CA (EXAM)/N/2017 dated Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

Accordingly, the upcoming CA Final May 2017 Exams shall start on 02/05/2017 and ends on 08/05/2017 for first Group and 17/05/2017 for second Group. This term CA Final exam shall be held in 173 places in India and 4 overseas centres.

Applications for admission to CA Final level examinations are required to be made either online free of cost or in the relevant prescribed physical application form by paying ₹1,000.

CA Final Exam Fee Payable for May 2017

CA Final students are required to pay the following fees for the examinations are as under:

For Both the Groups: ₹ 2700/-
For one of the Groups: ₹ 1500/-

Whereas, candidates of Final examination opting for Dubai /Abu Dhabi / Muscat are required to remit US$ 300 for single group and US$ 500 or their equivalent Indian Currency.

Students of CA Final Examinations opting for Examination Centre at Kathmandu are required to remit Indian ₹2000/- for Single Group and Indian ₹3600 for both the groups or their equivalent relevant foreign currency.

CA Final May 2017 Exam Application Form

CA students may made application for admission to Final examinations in either online or offline mode.

A) How to Apply Online for CA Final May 2017 Exam:

Application Form for CA Final students is available online at http://icaiexam.icai.org free of cost. In other words, the candidates who apply online from 05/02/2017 (5th Feb 2017) to 26/02/2017 (26th Feb 2016) and remit the fee online by using either VISA or MASTER Credit/ Debit Card shall not be charged ₹1000/- in case of CA Final examination (i.e. cost of application form fee).

However, if they fill up the online application form after 26th Feb, 2017 and upto 2nd March, 2017, shall be required to remit additional fee amounting to ₹600/-.

Online Form May 2017 Exam

Thus, you may fill up and submit your Exam Form online for CA Final May 2017 term of examination from Friday, Feb 05, 2017 and the last date for applying/submitting online exam form without late fee is Friday, Feb 26, 2017 and with late fee is Friday, March 02, 2017.

B) How to Submit Physical Application Form May 2017 Exam:

If you want to submit the physical application form for the coming CA Final November, 2016 examination, you may do so in the relevant prescribed form.

Purchase Physical Form: You are required to pay ₹1000/- (apply online free of cost) for purchasing the physical application form. The copies of which may be obtained from:

The Deputy Secretary (Examinations),
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India,
‘ICAI BHAWAN’, Indraprastha Marg,
New Delhi – 110002.

Note that the forms shall also be made available in the Regional and Branch Offices of the CA Institute and can be obtained there from on cash payment of ₹1000/- on or from 5th August, 2016. However, the cost of application form shall not be charged if applications are filled in online.

Mode of Payment: The payment for physical application form shall only be made by Demand Draft of any Scheduled Bank. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of The Secretary, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, payable at New Delhi only.

Submitting Physical Form: Applications together with the prescribed fee by Demand Draft may be sent so as to reach the Deputy Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi not later than 26th Feb, 2017. However, after 26-02-2017, you may also submit your physical application form with late fee of ₹600 at Delhi Office upto 2nd March, 2017.

Candidates may also submit application by hand delivery at the office of CA Institute at New Delhi and at the Decentralised Offices of ICAI at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, Thane and Vadodara upto 02-03-2017.

Remind that the applications received after 2nd day of March, 2017 shall not be entertained under any circumstances.

Option to Write Answers Papers in Hindi

Candidates of CA Final Examinations will be allowed to opt for Hindi medium for answering their question papers. For more detailed information you may refer the Information Sheets attached to the relevant application form.

Extra Questions attempted in CA Final Exams

If you answer more questions than are required in terms of instructions given in the respective question paper of CA Final examination then only the requisite number of questions first answered in the answer sheet shall be valued by the CA Institute. In other words, please attempt only required number of questions and do not waste your time to answer more questions than required.

ICAI vide announcement dated 21st March, 2016 notified that it is seen that in CA final examinations, sometimes, candidates answer more questions or sub parts of a question, than are required in terms of the instructions given in the question paper.

The examination department of CA Institute has clarified that candidates are required to answer the requisite number of questions as per instructions printed on each question paper. In case any candidate answers extra questions/sub questions over and above the required number, then the requisite number of questions first answered in the answer book shall be valued and subsequent questions answered extra will be ignored.
