Board of Studies (BoS) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the date of next batch of ICAI Four Weeks Residential Programme on Professional Skills Development for both Men and Women students.
Accordingly, all students who have passed CA (Chartered Accountancy) IPCC/ PCC/ PE- II examination and pursuing last year of article training or completed Articleship training are eligible to join this Residential Programme. Recently qualified Chartered Accountants i.e. CA Final passed candidates in May/Nov 2014/15 exams may also join this course.
ICAI Four Weeks Residential Programme on Professional Skills Development
Why should you join Residential Programme? Is it compulsory? The answer is not, it’s not mandatory. But you are advised to join this course because of some salient features like, it will be considered as part of Articleship Training and GMCS course. It also helps to increase your communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills along with personal qualities and leadership proficiency. It will also upturn the problem solving talents and personality development expertise.
1) Course Contents:

4) Course Duration:
The PSD programme is only for 28 days i.e. 4 weeks which will be conducted at Centre of Excellence, Hyderabad. during:
A) For Female Students: From 28th January, 2017 to 24th February, 2017.
B) For Male Students: From 27th December, 2016 to 23rd January, 2017.

6) Course Fee:
The fee for Four Weeks Residential Programme is ₹40,000 for both male as well as female candidates. The amount of fee includes tuition fee, course material, boarding, lodging, local field visits (one), etc. The payment should be made online through Credit card or Net Banking facility using online payment portal.
However, you may either register by paying the entire course fee i.e. ₹40,000 per male/female participant or the registration may be made by paying only 20% of the fees i.e. ₹8,000 per participant and the balance is to be paid before starting of the course.
7) Exemption from Payment of Fees to top 10 rank holders:
As per the decision of the Council, top 10 rank holders of the Professional Competence Examination (PCE)/ Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) and Final Examination effective from November, 2010 examination onwards are exempted from payment of fees for attending the residential programme on Professional Skills Development Programme.

- Registration Number
- E-mail Address
- Date of joining Articleship
- Date of completion of Articleship (Estimated)
- If your articleship has been completed, then attach the Articleship Completion Certificate
- Name of the Principal
- Membership number of the Principal
- Name and Address of the CA Firm
- Details of Marks secured in the ICAI examinations
Print and Send Registration Form:
After the registration, candidate has to take the print out of your registration form and send the scan copy at this email id firstname.lastname@example.org and original copy send by speed post/courier to The Assistant Secretary, Board of Studies, ICAI Bhawan, Plot No.A-29, Sector-62, Noida-201 309.
In view of limited seats, please send your registration as early as possible. Registration is normally on First-Come-First-Serve basis, subject to logical criteria.
In case of over-response, students will be selected on the basis of logical criteria. First preference may be given to the
qualified Chartered Accountants. Candidates who had applied but were refused admission in the earlier batches
will also be appropriately considered. Selection of the candidates who will be allowed to undergo the programme will be made by Board of Studies or by a person/ group of Board of Studies. All decisions by the competent authority on selection will be final and binding. Intimation will be sent on selection/ non-selection. No other correspondence on selection or non selection shall be made.
Cancellation from the Programme:
The students are not allowed to cancel the confirmed registration within two (2) weeks before the schedule commencement of the programme. Cancellation in the second last week and in the last week will attract cancellation charges of 20% and 30% of the course fees respectively from the candidates.
Exemptions from GMCS Courses to Residential Programme Participants
If you have not completed your General Management and Communication Skills (GMCS) then you would not be required to undergo GMCS course separately. Further, the period during which the training is undergone will be considered as an integral part of practical training in accordance with the explanation (1) to Regulation 59 (7) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988.
Further, if you have already paid fees for the GMCS course and have not undergone the actual course then you may claim the refund of fees on account of GMCS course directly from the region/ branch where such fees had been paid subsequent to your selection in a batch of Professional Skills Development Programme.
15 days GMCS Course:
All students who have registered for article ship training before 1st May, 2012 would not be required to undergo 15 days GMCS course.
GMCS II under new Scheme:
All students who have registered for articleship training on or after 1st May, 2012 would not be required to undergo GMCS II course.
Therefore, apart from development of communication skills, personal qualities, interpersonal and teamwork skills, problem solving skills and leadership skills, you will also get the compensatory benefits from other essential trainings.
