ICAI Award of Scholarships 2017 to CA IPCC/ Final Course

ICAI invites applications for the award of Scholarships to registered students of CA IPCC and CA Final Course to be paid from April 2017 onwards.

Board of Studies (BOS) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that the award of Scholarships shall be granted to the eligible candidates of CA Intermediate (IPC) and CA Final Course students.

BOS, ICAI awards various Scholarships to students, namely, Merit, Merit-cum-Need based and Need-based and Weaker Sections twice a year i.e. in the month of April and October. You may find the scholarship related announcements in the Student’s Journal- “The Chartered Accountant Student” calling applications for awarding the scholarships.

Scholarships for CA IPCC and CA Final Registered Students

ICAI invites applications for the award of Scholarships to the selected candidates to be paid from April 1, 2017 onwards. The eligible students are required to apply in prescribed Scholarship Application Form.

  • FORM – 1: Merit Scholarship Scheme
  • FORM – 2: Advance Receipt
  • FORM – 3: Application Form for grant of Scholarship
  • FORM – 4: Certificate to be submitted on the letter head of the Principal by the Student undergoing Articleship (Practical Training)

Terms for award of Scholarships:

  1. ICAI Registered Students: Applicants shall be the registered students of Intermediate (IPC) or Final Course.
  2. 18 Months Scholarship: In the case of Intermediate (IPC) Students, Scholarship shall be paid for a maximum period of 18 months.
  3. 30 Months Scholarship: In the case of Final students, Scholarship shall be paid for a maximum period of 30 months or balance period of their articleship, whichever is less.
  4. Additional Scholarship: An additional amount of ₹100/- p.m. shall be paid to SC/ ST/ OBC students, under Need-based and Weaker Section Category on submission of certificate/ documentary proof duly attested by a gazetted officer or a member of the Institute.
  5. Handicapped Students: One scholarship under the Need-Based and Weaker Section Category is reserved for a Physically Challenged student.
  6. Income Certificate: Income Certificate (Form No. 4) to be submitted on the letter head of the Principal by the Student undergoing Articleship (Practical Training) (Part I) / letter head of any member of ICAI by the Student not undergoing Articleship (Part-II).

Last Date of Scholarship Form:

Duly completed and signed Application Forms in the prescribed formats as mentioned above should reach the Director, Board of Studies, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, A-29, Sector-62, NOIDA-201309 latest by 31st March, 2017.

Eligible criteria for ICAI Scholarship Form

If you wish to avail the scholarship, then you have to fulfil terms for award of Scholarships The details of scholarships and the criteria applied for selection of applicants are as under:

Merit Scholarships:

Merit Scholarships awarded by CA Institute to the Meritorious Students i.e. CA IPCC Rank Holders/ Toppers as a token of appreciation. All those students whose names are appearing at Sl. No. 1-10 of Merit lists of Intermediate (IPC) of Nov 2016 Exam, in case the Rank at Sl. No. 10 continues to Sl. No. 11 or 12 or so on, then all such rank holders shall be granted @ ₹2000/- p.m.

Accordingly, following top 10 rank holders of CA IPCC Nov 2016 examination shall get merit scholarship from ICAI:

  1. Rekha Ghevarram Suthar from Pune got 559 marks and secure Rank 1
  2. Aayush Agarwal from Kolkata got 553 marks and secured Rank 2
  3. Shivkrish V from Chennai got 545 marks and secured Rank 3
  4. Anuj Poddar from Kolkata got 543 marks and secured Rank 4
  5. Ashish Goyal from Bhatinda got 534 marks and secured Rank 5
  6. Avanee Malhotra from Sriganganagar got 533 marks and secured Rank 6
  7. Meenu Jain from Ajmer got 532 marks and secured Rank 7
  8. Shivani Hardas from Durg got 531 marks and secured Rank 8
  9. Millon Kumar from Chennai got 528 marks and secured Rank 9
  10. Kushal Santosh Lodha from Nashik got 525 marks and secured Rank 10
  11. Darshan Mukeshkumar Shah from Ahmedabad got 525 marks and secured Rank 10

You will receive Two Thousand Rupees Per Month and you are not required to apply for this scholarship i.e. CS Institute shall award it automatically to those meritorious students. The period of scholarship shall be 30 months or remaining period of Articleship whichever is less.

Rank holders of Intermediate (IPC) registered for Final Course will get Scholarship for a maximum period of 30 months/ remaining periods of their Articleship whichever, is less. That means, the Merit Scholarship shall be awarded to only those students who are not yet completed their Articleship training.

Merit-cum-Need:

Rank holders (other than covered under Merit category) of Intermediate (IPC) May 2016 Exam whose parents/guardians total annual income does not exceed ₹1,50,000/-. The students who would be selected for award of scholarship under this category will be granted @ ₹1500 p.m. for a maximum period of 30 months/ remaining periods of articleship whichever is less on being registered for Final Course. Total 30 scholarships are awarded every year under this category.

Need-based and weaker sections Scholarship:

Students of Intermediate (IPC) and Final Course are eligible to apply for award of Need- based Scholarships provided their parents’ annual income is not more than ₹1,00,000/- per annum. The students who would be selected for award of scholarship will be granted @ ₹1250/- p.m. for 18 months to Intermediate (IPC) students and for a maximum period of 30 months/ remaining periods of articleship whichever is less to Final students.

Total 500 scholarships (200 for CA IPCC and 300 for CA Final Course Students) are awarded every year under this category. Two scholarships are reserved every year for physically handicapped students. Note that an additional amount of ₹100/- p.m. will be paid for SC/ST/OBC category students on submission of a certificate/ documentary proof duly attested by a member of the Institute.

While selecting candidates the performance of their CA CPT/ Graduation Examinations/ Intermediate (IPC) as the case may be as well as parents’ income are taken into consideration. Physically handicapped students or those who do not have any earning member in their family are given preference.

Over and above the number of scholarships under this category, the children undergoing Intermediate (IPC) or Final Course of the deceased members of ICAI where financial assistance is provided to spouses of the deceased members from the Chartered Accountants Benevolent Fund (CABF) shall also be eligible for scholarship.

    how to check our application got selected if they will send any letter in return or any thing else i was already send my application form and complied with requirements so i wanna know the status of my application how can i know that
