Eligibility Criteria

Nationality/Citizenship: Applicants must be a Citizen of India, a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanent settlement, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age: Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 28 years old as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxation will be provided for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD and other categories as per Government of India guidelines.

  • SC/ST: 5 Years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 Years
  • Persons affected by 1984 riots: 5 Years
  • Widows, divorced women, and women legally separated (who have not remarried): Up to 35 years (General/EWS), 38 years (OBC), and 40 years (SC/ST).

Educational Qualification: A graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government is required. Candidates must have completed and received their passing certificate for graduation on or after April 1, 2021.

Selection Procedure

The selection process involves:

Online Test (Objective Multiple Choice Type): The test will comprise five sections:

  1. Reasoning Aptitude (15 questions, 15 marks),
  2. Computer Knowledge (10 questions, 10 marks),
  3. English Language (25 questions, 25 marks),
  4. Quantitative Aptitude (25 questions, 25 marks), and
  5. General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry (25 questions, 25 marks).

The composite time for the test is 60 minutes. There will be negative marking, with 1/4th of the mark assigned for a question deducted for each wrong answer.

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in any one of the specified local languages of the state for which they are applying. This test will be conducted after qualifying the online test. Candidates who have studied the specified local language in 8th, 10th, or 12th standard are exempt from this test.

Important Terms and Conditions

The training period will be 12 months of On-the-Job Training. Apprentices are entitled to holidays observed by the Bank and one Casual Leave on completion of each month of apprenticeship, with a maximum of 4 casual leaves at a time. Overtime is not permitted.
