CA Foundation Registration for May 2019 Exam

CA Foundation is an entry-level course to be a Chartered Accountant. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) offers four different levels of Course viz. Foundation Course, Intermediate Course and final Course.

CA Foundation Course Registration Fee 2019

You have to pay only ₹9,000 for registration to Foundation Course for appearing in CA Foundation May/Nov 2019. However, if you want to subscribe Students’ Journal then you have to pay extra amount of ₹200 for one year subscription. You may also subscribe to Members’ Journal by paying extra ₹400 as one year subscription fee.

This statement shall describe the details of fee to be paid for CA Foundation Course registration for Indian and foreign students and other SAARC countries:

Note that the subscription of both Journal is optional and therefore you are not compulsorily required to subscribe the same. However, ICAI has strongly recommend to CA Foundation students for subscription to Students’ Journal for at least one year at the time of registration for foundation course.

CA Foundation Registration for May 2019 Examination

A candidate has to register for CA Foundation Course by filling Online Registration Form available on ICAI website ( in “Course Registration Forms” under “Students tab”.

New students require to enter personal details like First Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Gender, Date of Birth (DOB), Email address, Mobile number, Aadhar number (Optional) etc. Thereafter, you create password with combination of special character, capital letters, number, lower case letters, and register yourself after re-confirm password.

Students after registration to the course are required to complete a minimum of 4 months study period from the date of registration in order to be eligible to appear in the Foundation Examination.

Therefore, the last date for CA Foundation registration is:

  • 31st December, 2018 for appearing in May 2019 Examination; and
  • 30th June, 2019 for appearing in Nov 2019 Examination.

Foundation Course registration is valid for 3 years and can be revalidated any number of times for further 3 years period by paying revalidation fee of ₹300/- or as decided by the Council from time to time.

While filling the online form, you should take care of the following:

  • Online Payment: After filling the online form pay the required fees online using the payment gateway.
  • Print Submitted Form: On successful payment, system will automatically generate the form, which is to be printed. The printed form must be sent to the ICAI regional office.

You have to take a print out of filled-in application form, attach photograph, put signature and submit it to the appropriate office of the ICAI. CA Institute shall keep it for the purpose of verification of details and maintaining physical record at the Institute’s end.

Following documents are to be submitted to concerned Regional Office within 7 days of the date of online registration along with the print out of the online registration form, duly signed by the candidate.

  • Signed copy of printed Form: The duly signed printout of online successful registration form in hard copy
  • Recent Photo: One recent colour photograph (affixed on the printout of the online successful registration form)
  • Class 12 Documents: Attested copy of Admit Card / Mark sheet of Class 12 examination issued by the respective Board
  • Class 10 Documents: Attested copy of the 10th Marksheet/ Admit Card of 10th class indicating the Name & Date of Birth
  • Residential Proof: Attested copy of proof of Nationality, if student is a foreigner
  • Cast Certificate: Attested copy of proof of special category certificate i.e SC/ST, OBC, Differently abled.
