CSEET Eligibility July 2025: ICSI introduces Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) in place of Foundation Programme. 12th Class passed candidates are eligible for CSEET July 2025. CSEET Exemption July 2025. Chartered Accountants and Cost Accountants are exempted from CSEET July 2025 examinations.

CSEET is the only qualifying entrance test for registration to the CS Executive Programme. CSEET eligibility for July 2025 and exemption criteria from CS Executive Entrance Test. ICSI announces last date for registration is 15th June 2025 for CSEET 5th July 2025.

CSEET Eligibility Criteria

CS Institute has prescribed the CSEET eligibility conditions for appearing in Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test. Following candidates are eligible for appearing in CSEET July 2025 examination:

10th Class Passed Students:

ICSI has allowed 10th Passed students to register for CSEET on provisional basis. This decision has been taken by the Council of the ICSI at its meeting held during 26th & 27th March, 2021.

Class 12 Students:

If you have passed Senior Secondary i.e. 10+2 Examination then you are eligible to appear in the CSEET. A candidate appeared for 12th Class or equivalent exam may also apply for CS Executive Entrance Test to be held in July 2025.

In other words, a candidate either passed or appearing in Class 12 examination or equivalent exams shall be eligible to appear in the CSEET.

The next CSEET examination shall be held on 5th July, 2025. Candidates registered effective from 16th April 2025 to 15th June 2025 shall be examined in July 2025.

CSEET Exemption

ICSI has specified conditions for exemption from passing CSEET examinations. If you satisfy the prescribed exemption criteria then you will be able to take direct admission to CS Executive Programme:

Exemption for CSEET

  1. CS Foundation: All candidates who have passed CS Foundation Programme are exempted from CSEET July 2025.
  2. CA Final: A candidate who have passed CA Final examination of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) are exempted from CSEET. Thus, if you are qualified Chartered Accountant, you are eligible for exemption from CSEET.
  3. CMA Final: Candidates who have passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) are exempted from CSEET. Hence, if you are a Cost Accountant then you are eligible for direct exemption to CS Executive Programme.

CSEET Exemption Fee

CS Foundation passed students are not required to pay any exemption fee. They can directly register for the CS Executive Programme.

However, if you are a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), you have to pay an exemption fee of ₹5,000 at the time of registration to CS Executive Programme.

No Exemption from CSEET for Graduates/ Post Graduates

Graduate or Post Graduate students are also be required to pass the CSEET (Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test) to become eligible for registration to CS Executive Programme. In other words, CSEET is compulsory for graduate candidates to take admission in CS Course.

Earlier all Graduates/ Post Graduates were exempted from CS Foundation examination. That means they were eligible for registration directly to CS Executive Programme. Now, they are also required to pass the CSEET for admission to Executive Programme.

Registered Students of CS Foundation Course

ICSI has allowed all existing Foundation Programme students to appear in CS Foundation examinations till expiry of the validity of their registrations.

Such students, after passing the Foundation Programme Examinations, may register for the next level i.e. CS Executive Programme as per existing process.

The Company Secretaries (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 substituted Chapter IV (Registration of Students) of the Company Secretaries Regulations, 1982. The CS Amendment Regulations, 2020 is effective from 4th February, 2020 vide Notification dated No. 710/1 (M)/1 dated 3-Feb-2020.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) discontinued the registration in CS Foundation Programme. Actually, With the introduction of CSEET from February 3, 2020, new registration to CS Foundation Programme has ceased to exist w.e.f. February 3, 2020.

Therefore, all candidates who wants to register in CS Course must qualify CSEET. That means you have to clear CSEET instead of CS Foundation for registration in CS Executive Programme.
