The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, a distinguished Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, has officially advertised a recruitment drive for a temporary project position. The Project: Design of a Low-Cost Indigenous Imaging RADAR

The successful candidate will be engaged on the project titled “Design and development of low-cost indigenous imaging RADAR system for automatic slope monitoring and failure”.

This vital research falls under the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and is entirely funded by the Ministry of Coal (MoC), Govt. of India. The position is co-terminus with the project’s completion, which is scheduled for April 14, 2028.

Position Details: Engineer

The recruitment is for one (01) Engineer. The initial tenure of the post is set for two years (24 months).

Compensation

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly fellowship:

  • Monthly Salary (Year 1 & 2): INR 45,000.00
  • HRA: Not applicable

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must hold a B.E. / B.Tech. degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Electronics / Communication
  • Electrical / Computer Science
  • Instrumentation / Mining or any other similar branch

Desirable Experience and Skills

While not mandatory, candidates with previous experience on Radar/Electronics system handling in mine application may be preferred.

Core Job Responsibilities

The Engineer’s role is multifaceted, focusing on the practical implementation and deployment of the RADAR system:

  1. System Design for the safety of mine workers.
  2. Deployment of the RADAR system in Indian mines and conducting essential measurements.
  3. System Development and application-specific improvisation.
