New Delhi, India – June 27, 2025 – The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially announced the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) date for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts under Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) 01/2024. This highly anticipated announcement marks a critical juncture for thousands of candidates vying for the coveted ALP positions in Indian Railways.

The CBAT for RRB ALP CEN 01/2024 is scheduled to be held on July 15, 2025.

This Computer-Based Aptitude Test is the final stage of the selection process for ALP candidates, following the successful completion of CBT 1 and CBT 2. Only those candidates who have qualified in CBT 2 are eligible to appear for the CBAT.

Understanding the RRB ALP Selection Process

    • Comprises 75 objective-type multiple-choice questions.
    • Subjects: Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness on Current Affairs.

    • Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for every incorrect answer.
  2. CBT 2 (Second Stage Computer Based Test):
    • Divided into two parts: Part A and Part B.
    • Part A:

    • Qualifying in nature: Candidates must secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each test battery to qualify. This cut-off is uniform for all categories and cannot be relaxed.
    • No negative marking in CBAT.
    • The final merit list is calculated by giving 70% weightage to CBT 2 Part A and 30% weightage to CBAT.
    The CBAT typically includes five test batteries to assess cognitive abilities and decision-making skills:
    • Memory Test
    • Following Directions Test
    • Depth Perception Test
    • Test of Power of Observation (or Concentration Test)

  4. Document Verification (DV):
    • Candidates shortlisted after CBAT will be called for Document Verification.

    • The final step in the selection process.

Important Instructions for CBAT

Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication of candidates will be done at the exam center prior to entry into the exam hall. Candidates must bring their original Aadhaar card or a printout of their e-verified Aadhaar.

Candidates are advised to ensure their Aadhaar remains in an unlocked condition in the UIDAI system before coming to the exam center to avoid inconvenience during registration and the exam process.
