Did you know? In terms of the decision of the Examination Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the practice of sending physical admit cards by post is discontinued for June 2019 CA CPT Examination for those candidates who had submitted their exam application forms online.

Chartered Accountancy (CA) is a highly eminent, dynamic and rewarding profession and this course requires rigorous theoretical education and practical training and testing of students before they can be designated Chartered Accountants.

Update for 2023-24: CA CPT has been discontinued and therefore you have to register for CA Foundation and download CA Foundation admit card June 2023 and Dec 2023 for the coming examinations.

There are three levels of knowledge viz. basic knowledge, working knowledge and advanced knowledge which specify the scope and depth of professional competence expected to be acquired and demonstrated by CA students at the CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final stages respectively.

CA CPT Admit Card Nov 2020 at

If you have applied the ICAI entrance level course examination i.e. for appearing in the CA CPT (Common Proficiency Test) Examination to be held on Sunday, 16th Dec, 2018 then you should have to download your CPT Admit Card/ Hall Ticket from by login into your account with ICAI.

Students submitted physical examination application forms (i.e. OMR) for Common Proficiency Test to be held on 16th June 2019 will obviously get physical admit card by post to their address as you had mentioned in Exam Application Form.

Common Proficiency Test (CPT)/ Foundation 2020 Admit Card will be released by the CA Institute generally 21 days before the CA CPT/Foundation Exam date. Hence, it is expected that the admit card for CA CPT/Foundation Nov 2020 exam shall be released on October 19, 2020.

The candidates shall not required to remember their PIN (Personal Identification Number) for downloading their CA Exam CPT Admit Card 2020. For downloading/printing of the admit cards, candidates will have to login to their Single-Sign-On account at as under:

Step-1 (Account Login):

Step-2 (View Admit Card):

After login into your account, just click on the View link in front of Admit Card. The next window will show you the option for printing printing your CPT Admit Card.

Step-3 (Print Admit Card):

Thereafter in the next page click on continue to download your admit card in PDF or print the same in A4 size paper immediately. Hence, click “Continue” button only when your printer is ready and WAIT. Note that you will be allowed only three times for downloading the CPT Admit Card. You may save the Admit Card in PDF format and print the same anytime.

Note that CA Institute will not issue physical admit cards to those who have submitted ICAI exam form online. Therefore, will be required to print their admit cards from official website at i.e. online only, which will be equally valid for admission to the examination.

In case the downloaded CPT Admit Card does not contain the specimen signature and photograph then you should not bother about that as because it will still be valid for admission/ entry to the examination CA CPT Exam Centre/ hall. But, you are required to carry your photo ID/photo & signature duly attested by a CA/ Gazette Officer/ Principal of School/ College while appearing in CPT and handover the same to the Invigilator for sending to the Institute.

Minimum Marks for passing CA CPT

In order to pass CA CPT/Foundation Nov 2020, a candidate is required to secure required minimum marks. You have to get a minimum of 30 percent marks in each Section. You have to also get a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all Sections.

These minimum percentage and marks shall be at one sitting. However, these conditions are subject to the principle of negative marking. As per Regulation 36A, if your answer will be wrong then your One fourth (1/4) Mark will be deducted.

  • Fundamentals of Accounting (Minimum Marks for Passing): 18
  • Mercantile Laws (Minimum Marks for Passing): 12
  • General Economics (Minimum Marks for Passing): 15
  • Quantitative Aptitude (Minimum Marks for Passing): 15

Thus, you have to secure only 50% marks in the aggregate and 30% minimum passing marks in a subject/ section of Paper-Pencil mode CPT exam to be held on 16th June, 2019. The result of June 2019 CPT Exam will most likely to be declared in the last week of July, 2019.
