Role and Environment: The Principal Library and Information Officer is a critical administrative role, responsible for overseeing the entire library and information system of AIIMS. The officer is expected to drive modern documentation work and manage the library’s supervisory structure.
Eligibility Criteria Summary: The position is open to officers from Central/State/U.T. Governments, Universities, Statutory, Autonomous Bodies, or Research and Development Organizations holding an analogous post on a regular basis, or with:
- 5 years of regular service in a post in the scale of Level-12; OR
- 8 years of regular service in a post in the scale of Level-11 or equivalent.
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Candidates must possess:
- At least a second-class Master’s Degree in Science (preferably in Biological Sciences) from a recognized University or equivalent.
- A Degree or equivalent Diploma in Lib. Science.
- 7 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a library of standing.
Desirable Qualifications: Preference will be given to those with a Master’s Degree in Library Science, training in Medical Librarianship, experience of documentation work in a responsible capacity, and knowledge of Sanskrit and any modern European language other than English.
2. Deputy Chief Security Officer
This position has one vacancy, which is reserved exclusively for female candidates. The post is in Level-11 in the Pay Matrix, and the upper age limit is 56 years.
Role and Environment: As a key security functionary, the Deputy Chief Security Officer will play a vital role in maintaining safety and order across the vast AIIMS campus, which includes hospitals, research blocks, academic areas, and residential complexes. The role demands strong experience in security protocols and, critically, in handling agitations or strikes of employees, ensuring smooth institutional functioning during challenging situations.
Eligibility Criteria (Only for Female Officers): The position is open to female officers of the Police Departments of the Central/State/UT Governments or Female Officers of the Para Military Forces:
- Holding an analogous post on a regular basis; OR
- Possessing 5 years of regular service in a post in Level-10 of the pay matrix; OR
- Possessing 8 years of regular service in a post in Level-6 of the pay matrix.
Candidates are preferably required to have experience connected with security, particularly with managing staff unrest.

Mandatory Documentation and Procedure
