The Accounting Standards Board (ASB) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the commencement of the 87th online batch for its Certificate Course on Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS). Designed to equip finance professionals with working-level proficiency in Ind AS, this weekend-only program offers a structured pathway to master complex accounting frameworks via the ICAI Digital Learning Hub (DLH).

Course Schedule and Enrollment

The 87th batch is scheduled to run from October 24, 2026, to a tentative end date of January 31, 2027. The program spans 24 comprehensive sessions held exclusively on weekends to accommodate working professionals:

  • Saturdays: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
  • Sundays: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

The course fee is fixed at ₹10,030 (inclusive of GST). Registrations are open through the ICAI portal until October 21, 2026, and admissions are processed on a strict first-come, first-served basis. A detailed session itinerary will be delivered to enrolled participants in a welcome email.

Curriculum Delivery and CPE Credit Structure

The curriculum focuses on developing a working-level foundation in Ind AS, with participants encouraged to pursue deeper domain mastery through ICAI-ASB deep-dive offerings.

  • Study Materials: To promote digital access, no physical books will be issued. Participants will receive soft copies of the reading material along with view-only access to session video recordings.
  • CPE Hours: Members can earn up to 30 Structured CPE hours—25 hours for fulfilling attendance criteria and an additional 5 hours upon passing the final assessment.

Attendance, Face Registration, and Assessment

To qualify for the final assessment, candidates must maintain a minimum of 80% attendance, translating to attending at least 19 out of the 24 live virtual sessions. While participants may join class sessions without face registration, completing facial verification via a camera-enabled PC or laptop is mandatory before sitting for the exam. Facial registration approval takes up to one week, though previously approved registrations remain valid.

Evaluations are conducted on a quarterly schedule, with specific dates communicated separately. Candidates must secure at least 60% qualifying marks to pass. Upon successful completion, digital certificates can be downloaded directly from the DLH portal. Official invoices are issued in the month following the conclusion of the batch.

Cancellation Guidelines and Technical Requirements

ICAI enforces a defined cancellation framework for Batch 87:

  • Cancellations made at least one week before the batch start date incur a 10% deduction.
  • No refunds are granted once the batch has commenced.
  • Batch transfers are not processed directly; candidates must cancel their current seat and re-register for an alternative batch subject to availability.
  • In the event that the ASB postpones or calls off the batch, full refunds are issued.

For optimal stability, participants are strongly advised to attend all live virtual sessions using a desktop PC or laptop.

For technical inquiries or batch-related queries, candidates can contact the ASB secretariat at indascourse@icai.in or call 0120-3876877 during working days between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. ICAI also reminds members of the opportunity to contribute to the Chartered Accountants’ Benevolent Fund (CABF), which offers tax deductions under Section 80G.
