Online MEF Empanelment Form 2018-19 for Practicing Chartered Accountants

Chartered Accountants in Practice, CA Firms/ LLPs may fill up online MEF (Multipurpose Empanelment Form) for the year 2018-19 on or before last date and check status of MEF 2018-19.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced that all the members in full time practice are advised to fill the Multipurpose Empanelment Form (MEF) for the year 2018-19. And the information filled in by the applicant in MEF can be edited/modified any number of times before final online Submission.

The Chartered Accountants/ CA Firms/LLPs can apply the MEF on website MEFICAI.ORG showing the status as on 1st day of January 2018.

Acceptance of digitally signed or uploading the declaration duly signed by all continuing Partner (s) / Proprietor of the firm or Member practicing in individual name.

Introduction of Grey Fields in front of pre-filled fields (in Green) to facilitate the applicant to fill the data in case he differs with the prefilled details instead of submitting Memorandum of Changes (MOCs). The same will be accepted by ICAI after due verification.

Shortlisted applicants would upload the Financial Documents on the MEF application itself. Registration in MEF only after verification through One Time Password (OTP).

System generated SMS and Emails at the time of registration, submission of MEF and other important communication from PDC. The last date of submission of MEF Form 2018-19 is extended to 10th September, 2018.

Update on 06-09-2018: Professional Development Committee to extend the last date for submission of online Multipurpose Empanelment Form for the year 2018-19 including Declaration and Financial Documents till 12.00 am of 10th September, 2018.

You may kindly note that the last date for submission of online MEF Form for the year 2018-19 is 5th September, 2018 and online Declaration is to be submitted within 10 days of the filling of MEF but not later than 10th September, 2018.

FAQs on MEF Application 2018-2019

Question-1: Have I to register in MEF Application 2018-19?
Answer: Yes, you have to register in MEF 2018-19 once, even if you have registered in earlier year(s).

Question-2: How can I register in MEF 2018-19?
Answer: For registering, you have to follow the below process:

  1. Click on “Register”.
  2. Select the type of Applicant: Sole Proprietor / Partnership / LLP/ Individual
  3. Depending on the type, applicant will have to enter MRN and Date of Birth / FRN and Date of Establishment
  4. System will validate FRN/ MRN and DOB/ DOE and after successful validation, applicant will require to fill Email id and Mobile number (enter the Email id and Mobile number which are active).
  5. One time password (OTP) will be sent at above contact details.
  6. Applicant will fill the OTP and press the button “Verify OTP”.
  7. On verification, applicant will enter a password for this application and confirm the same.
  8. And then click the “Register” button.
  9. You will be registered thereafter and will enter into the MEF application automatically.
  10. For next time onward, you have to login by entering MEF No. / FRN / MRN and Password.

Question-3: How can I start filling MEF 2018-19?
Answer: After registration an applicant will directly enter into MEF Application- Advisory will open and on clicking “Next“, Page 1 of MEF Form will open. Every applicant has to register in MEF 2018-19 once and thereafter will automatically enter in the application immediately.

Once registered, an applicant can enter into the Application by clicking at “Login” by entering MEF No. / FRN / MRN and Password. The form will proceed by clicking at “Next” button at the bottom or selecting the desired page from the tool bar at the top.

Question-4: Do I have I to fill the whole form at one go only?
Answer: The application provides the facility of saving the single pages. So an applicant can fill the form as per his convenience and save page-wise by clicking the “Save” button at the bottom of each page. The saved pages can be edited any number of times before the Final Submission of the Form.

Question-5: Can I verify my Form before Final Submission?
Answer: Yes, an applicant can take a print of the complete form for verification by clicking at “Print Application Form” and after his satisfaction can finally submit the Form.
