ICAI SEP 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria: You should check whether you are eligible to appear in CA September 2025 exams or not before you submit ICAI examination application form. Know the detail course wise specific eligibility conditions for ICAI September 2025 exams are as under.
ICAI exam form for SEP 2025 shall be available from July 05, 2025. The last date for online submission of form with late fee examination application form is July 21, 2025. Check eligibility for Foundation, Intermediate, and Final exams per course rules.
Eligibility for CA Foundation SEP 2025 Exam
CA Foundation exam dates are 16th, 18th, 20th & 22nd September 2025.
Eligibility criteria for the Foundation Examination to be held in September 2025:
To be eligible for the CA Foundation September 2025 exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Registration: The candidate must be registered for the Foundation Course on or before May 1, 2025.
Course Conversion: If the candidate was previously registered under CPT, they must have converted to the Foundation course by the date they fill out the exam form. The course code in their dashboard should be NEWFND23 or CONFND23.
12th Standard Examination Status: The candidate must have either appeared in their 12th Standard Board Exam from a recognized Board and uploaded their 12th Class Admit Card to the Self Service Portal (SSP), OR passed their 12th Standard from a recognized Board and uploaded their 12th Class Marksheet to the SSP.
SSP Login and Details: Candidates need valid login credentials on the SSP. Their latest photograph and signature must be available and of acceptable quality on the SSP for printing on marksheets.
Photo Requirements: The photograph should be colored or black/white with 80% of the face visible (without a face mask) including ears, against a white background, with clear contrast. No goggles or caps are allowed, though spectacles and religious headwear (not covering the face) are permitted. Selfies are not allowed. The photo should show a straight-looking, relaxed face. Ensure no “red-eye” if flash is used. The scanned photograph must be in JPG/JPEG format, sized between 20-50KB, well-cropped without extra white spaces, and fit within 4.5 cm by 3.5 cm.
Signature Requirements: The signature must be done with a black pen on a white sheet. The scanned signature file size must be between 10-20 KB and clearly visible. It should be well-cropped without extra white spaces, stored as JPG/JPEG, and fit within 6 cm by 2 cm.

Eligibility for CA Intermediate SEP 2025 Exam
CA Inter exam dates are Group-I: 4th, 7th and 9th Sep 2025 and Group-II: 11th, 13th and 15th September 2025.
Eligibility criteria for the Intermediate Examination to be held in May 2025:
To be eligible for the CA Intermediate September 2025 examination, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Registration: Candidates must be registered for the Intermediate Course on or before January 1, 2025. This fulfills the 8-month study course requirement as of September 1, 2025, the first day of the examination month.
- Course Code Conversion: The course code in the candidate’s dashboard must be either NEWINT23 or CONINT23. If not, conversion to the new course is required through the Self Service Portal (SSP) before applying for the exam. No fees are required for this conversion.
- SSP Login Credentials: Candidates need valid SSP login credentials. If they don’t have them, they should visit https://eservices.icai.org/ to create one.
- Photograph and Signature: The latest photograph and signature must be available on the SSP and be of acceptable quality for printing on mark sheets. These must adhere to specific requirements:
- Photograph:
- Colored or black/white with 80% face visible (without mask), including ears, against a white background.
- Clear contrast of the image.
- No goggles or caps (religious headwear allowed if it doesn’t cover the face). Spectacles are allowed.
- White background, clearly visible.
- Straight-looking, relaxed face.
- No “red-eye” if flash is used.
- No selfies.
- Scanned as JPG/JPEG, size 20-50KB.
- Well-cropped without extra white spaces.

Eligibility for CA Final SEP 2025 Exam
CA Final exam schedule are Group -I: 3rd, 6th and 8th Sep 2025 and Group -II: 10th, 12th and 14th September 2025.
To be eligible for the CA Final September 2025 exams, candidates need to meet several requirements:
I. General Requirements (Before filling the exam form):
- Have valid login credentials on the Self Service Portal (SSP).
- Possess valid course registration. If lapsed, convert to the new course on SSP. The course code for Final should be NEWFIN23 or CONFIN23.
- Ensure the latest photograph and signature are uploaded on SSP and are of acceptable quality.
- Photograph Requirements: Colored or black/white with 80% face visible (without mask), ears visible, against a white background with clear contrast. No goggles or caps (religious headwear allowed if it doesn’t cover the face). No “red-eye” if flash is used. No selfies. Size: 20-50 KB, scanned as JPG/JPEG, well-cropped, fitting 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm.
- Signature Requirements: Done on a white sheet with a black pen. File size: 10-20 KB, clearly visible. Scanned as JPG/JPEG, well-cropped, fitting 6 cm x 2 cm.
- Ensure articleship status on SSP is updated to ‘Registered’ if it’s currently in pending mode.
II. Detailed Eligibility Conditions:
Final New Course Registration: Candidates must have registered or converted to the Final New Course.
Article Training: One of the following must be met:
- Completed 3 years or 3.5 years of articled training as of the exam application form submission date.
- Due to complete 3 years or 3.5 years of articled training (including excess leave) on or before August 31, 2025.
- In service on September 1, 2025, and serving the last twelve months of articled training (including excess leave), due to complete 3 years on or before August 31, 2026 (for PE-II stream students and PE-II stream students converted to IPCC/IIPCC).
- In service on September 1, 2025, and serving the last six months of articled training (including excess leave), due to complete 3.5 years on or before February 28, 2026 (for PCC stream students).
- In service on September 1, 2025, and serving the last six months of training (including excess leave), due to complete 3 years on or before February 28, 2026 (for Intermediate/IPCC/IIPCE students).
- In service on September 1, 2025, and serving the last twelve months of training (including excess leave), due to complete 3.5 years articleship on or before August 31, 2026 (for students converted from PE-II to PCC, and from PE-II to PCC and then to IPCC/IIPCE).
- Candidates with terminated articleship are advised to re-register for the balance period to be in service as on September 1, 2025, and complete 3 or 3.5 years of training (including excess leave) on or before February 28, 2026, or August 31, 2026, as applicable.
Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS):
- Students under the New Scheme of Education and Training (effective July 1, 2023) must successfully complete Advanced ICITSS on or before August 10, 2025, to be eligible for the September 2025 exams.
- Advanced ICITSS is a combination of Management & Communication Skills and Advanced IT Course.
- Candidates must undergo the Advanced ICITSS Advanced IT test after completing the Advanced Information Technology component.
- Students who have undergone only one component (GMCS II or Advanced ITT) under the Final (Old) course need to complete the remaining component (Advanced ICITSS (IT) or Advanced ICITSS(GMCS-II)). They are not required to undergo the entire Advanced ICITSS (IT and MCS).
- Candidates converted from Final Old Course to Final New Course who appeared at least once in the Final (old) Examination are not required to complete Advanced ICITSS before the September 2025 Final Examination, but must complete it before applying for Institute membership.
Self-Paced Online Modules (SPOM):
Candidates admitted to the Final Examination till November 2023: Exempt from Set C and Set D. Mandatory to qualify Set A and Set B before applying for membership.
- Appeared in Final Exam till November 2023 but could not pass either group: Qualify SET A AND SET B.
- Passed Group 2 till November 2023 but not Group 1: Qualify SET A only.
- Passed Group 1 till November 2023 but not Group 2: Qualify SET B only.
- Exemption in Paper 5 (May 2022-November 2023) but could not pass either group: Qualify SET A only.
- Exemption in Paper 4 (May 2022-November 2023) but could not pass either group: Qualify SET B only.
- Exemption in Paper 4 and Paper 5 (May 2022-November 2023) but could not pass either group: All Modules Exempt.
Candidates admitted to the Final examinations of May 2024 (other than those covered above): Exempt from Set C and Set D. Mandatory to qualify Set A and Set B before applying for membership.
Candidates admitted to the Final Examination of November 2024 and/or May 2025 (other than those covered above): Mandatorily qualify Set A, B, C, and/or D as applicable on or before August 10, 2025.
Intermediate candidates who cleared both groups till November 2023 and completed Advanced ICITSS Exam along with 2.5 years of articleship training by August 31, 2025: Exempt from Set C and D. Mandatory to qualify SET A and Set B before applying for membership.
Intermediate candidates who cleared both groups after November 2023 and completed Advanced ICITSS Exam along with 2.5 years of articleship training by August 31, 2025: Mandatorily qualify all Modules (SET A, B, C & D) before appearing in the Final Examinations on or before August 10, 2025.
Intermediate candidates who cleared either group up to November 2023 or before and passed the remaining group under Unit Scheme from May 2024 to May 2025 and completed Advanced ICITSS Exam along with 2.5 years of articleship training by August 31, 2025: Required to undergo and pass Self-Paced Online Modules before appearing in the Final Examination (on/before August 10, 2025).
- Passed 6 papers at Intermediate level: Qualify SET A, B, C, D.
- Passed 7 papers at Intermediate level: Qualify SET A, B and either of SET C or SET D.
- Passed 8 papers at Intermediate level: Qualify SET A and SET B.
