MECON Limited, a Miniratna and Schedule “A” Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, has announced recruitment for experienced professionals on a full-time fixed tenure (FTFT) contractual basis for various pipeline and ongoing projects across India. Online applications open on June 14, 2025, and close on June 28, 2025.

The recruitment includes over 70 vacancies in engineering, safety, project management, and SAP roles, offering competitive remuneration and benefits. Candidates must meet specific qualifications, experience, and age criteria, with selection through a personal interview.

Eligibility Criteria – MECON Limited 2025

✅ Educational Qualification

• Varies by post (26 Post Codes).
• Minimum: Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Safety, SAP, or relevant field.
• Must be from AICTE/UGC-approved institutions.

✅ Experience Required

• Minimum 2 to 20+ years, depending on the post.
• Experience must be relevant to the position applied for.
• Cut-off date for experience: May 28, 2025.

✅ Age Limit

• Maximum 50 years as on May 28, 2025.
• Age relaxation:
  • SC/ST: +5 years
  • OBC (NCL): +3 years
  • PwD: +10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per Govt. norms

✅ Nationality

Must be an Indian Citizen.

Important Notes on Qualification and Experience:

1. Engineering qualifications must be acquired through Regular/Full Time courses.
2. For other posts (except certificate courses), qualifications can be Regular/Full Time/Open and Distance Learning mode. Certificate courses can be part-time.
3. Qualifications must be from Government-recognized or accredited Universities/Institutes (UGC/AICTE/MCI/ICAI/ICSI).
4. Work experience must be full-time, salary-based, and in the relevant area.
5. Freelance, entrepreneurial, articleship, internship, academic project, teaching, or research experience will not be considered.
6. Period of on-the-job training as Management Trainee (MT)/Executive Trainee (ET)/Graduate Trainee (GT) in PSUs will be considered.
7. Period of apprenticeship under the Apprenticeship Act will be considered for post-qualification experience.

Documentary Evidence for Work Experience

Candidates must submit work experience certificates for all previous employments, clearly stating joining/relieving dates, nature of duties, relevance to the applied post, and pay scale/remuneration. For current employment, an experience certificate, offer letter, appointment letter, pay slips, or identity card showing joining date and proof of continuity (last 3 months’ pay slips) is required. Non-submission of these documents may lead to rejection. Self-declarations for experience will not be accepted.

Age Limit and Relaxations

The upper age limit for General & EWS categories is as mentioned against each post. Age relaxations are as follows:

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years
• SC/ST: 5 Years
• Persons with Disabilities (40% or above disability):
  • General (UR): 10 Years
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 13 Years
  • SC/ST: 15 Years
• Domicile of J&K (during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 5 Years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines.

The cutoff date for deciding age and post-qualification work experience is May 28, 2025.

Reservations and Relaxations

Reservations and relaxations for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PWD/EWS will be as per Government of India guidelines. PwD reservation is horizontal. SC, ST & OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates applying against UR posts will be considered on general merit, without age or fee relaxation.

For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) benefits:

• Caste must be in the “Central List of Other Backward Classes.”
• Candidates must not belong to the Creamy Layer.
• Latest OBC (NCL) Certificate in the prescribed format is required.
• Creamy layer OBC candidates must apply as “UR.” Category once filled cannot be changed.
• A valid OBC (NCL) Certificate must be shown at the interview.

For EWS benefits:

• Gross annual family income should be below Rs. 8.00 Lakhs (Rupees Eight Lakhs Only) from all sources in the financial year prior to the application year.
• Exclusions apply based on agricultural land (5 acres and above), residential flat (1000 Sq Ft and above), residential plot in notified municipalities (100 Sq Yards and above), or residential plot in other areas (200 Sq yards and above).
• Property held by a “Family” in different locations will be clubbed. “Family” includes the applicant, parents, siblings below 18 years, spouse, and children below 18 years.
• An Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority (District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Collector, etc.) is required.
• The crucial date for submitting the income and asset certificate is the closing date for application receipt.

Application Fee

• UR/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS candidates: Rs. 500/- (Non-Refundable).
• SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen or internal candidates are exempted from the fee.
• Fee must be paid online via the payment gateway on MECON’s website.
• Fees are non-refundable. Applications without the required fee will be rejected.

Selection Mode

The selection mode will be a Personal Interview. MECON reserves the right to change the mode of selection. Shortlisted candidates will be informed of interview details (date, time, venue) via MECON’s website and registered email IDs. Final selected candidates will be notified similarly for Document Verification and Medical Examination.

Travelling Allowance (TA) for Interview

Outstation candidates appearing for the Personal Interview will be reimbursed TA as follows:

Internal candidates will be governed by company service rules. If claims in the application are not substantiated during scrutiny at the interview, the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the interview and no TA will be paid.

Other Details

• Remuneration: In addition to consolidated pay, selected candidates may be eligible for metro/site allowance, subsidized accommodation or HRA, medical facilities, PF, Leave, and GPA as per company rules for contract employees.
• Place of Posting: Candidates can be posted anywhere in India (project site/location/office).
• Duration of Contract: The contract period is 2/3/5 years as specified. The initial offer will be for 1 year, renewable annually based on performance and company requirements.
• Medical Examination: Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination and be found medically fit before appointment.

   • PAN Card and Aadhaar Card (Aadhaar number in application must match uploaded card).
   • Valid caste certificate for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS/SC/ST. OBC (NCL) certificate must not be more than 1 year old as on the advertisement date.
   • PWD certificate in prescribed format.

   Important Notes for Uploading:
   • Documents must be legible, self-attested, and not encrypted/password-protected.
   • Multiple documents should be merged into a single PDF (max 1 MB).

   • Aadhaar Card is mandatory for online application.

General Information and Instructions

• Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
• Candidates employed in Government/PSUs must apply through proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the interview.
• All original certificates/documents must be produced at the interview.
• Non-submission of required degree/PG degree certificates or mark sheets may lead to rejection.
• Ensure all required certificates/testimonials are uploaded and self-attested.
• Furnishing wrong/false information will lead to disqualification.
• No modifications are allowed after online application submission.
• Outstation candidates eligible for interview will be reimbursed train fare (III Tier A/C or CC) by the shortest route, or Rs. 7/Km by road. Proof of travel is required.
• Certificates in languages other than Hindi/English must be accompanied by a certified translation.
• Candidates must have an active E-mail ID and Mobile number valid for at least one year as all communications will be through these.
