Re-validation of Registration for different levels of CA course under Revised Scheme of education and training. The following re-validation scheme will be applicable with effect from 1st July, 2017.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the revised scheme of revalidation of registration for various levels of Chartered Accountancy (CA) Course. CA Foundation Course, CA Intermediate Course and CA Final Course.
As decided by the Council of ICAI, the registration to the registration for Foundation, Intermediate and Final Course are valid for 3 years, 4 years and 5 years respectively.
In order to be eligible for the examination, the student must be having a valid registration number on the date of application to the CA examination. Therefore, please ensure that your Registration to Foundation/ Intermediate Registration/ Final Course is valid as on date of filling Examination Application Form.
Re-validate Foundation Registration
Validity for Registration:
Initial registration for CA Foundation is valid for 3 years. You have to pay ₹300 for each re-validation and each re-validation of registration for CA Foundation course shall be valid for 3 years from the date of re-validation.
Therefore, you should have to ensure that you have valid registration before filling examination form for Foundation Course. However, those students who have registered earlier in Entrance/ PE-I/ CPT) are required to register afresh in Foundation to pursue their studies in CA Course.
Re-validate Intermediate Course Registration
Validity for Registration:
Initial registration for CA Intermediate is valid for 4 years. You have to pay ₹400 for each re-validation and each re-validation of registration of CA Intermediate course shall be valid for 4 years from the date of re-validation.
Thus, you are required to ensure before applying for admission to Intermediate examination that you have valid registration.
All students who switched over to CA Intermediate Course from erstwhile PCC/ IPCC/ PE-II stream have valid registration period of 4 years and will be counted from the date of switch over to then Intermediate.

Revalidate CA Final Course Registration
Period of Validation of Registration for Final:
Initial registration for CA Final is valid for 5 years. You have to pay ₹500 for each revalidation and each revalidation of registration of CA Final course shall be valid for 5 years from the date of revalidation.
A candidate has to ensure that his registration to the course is valid, before applying for admission to CA Final examination.
Procedure for Re-validation of Registration to ICAI Course
Step-1 (Application for Revalidation):
The request for re-validation shall be made in the prescribed format indicating the name of the Course (Foundation/ Intermediate/ Final), registration number, date of registration and date of expiry of registration.
